This assignment required me to remodel an existing home set in the beautiful landscape of outer Barcelona - for my chosen client Nao Tamura.
Shaped by Japan and NYC’s creative scenes, Tamura’s work seamlessly blends cultures, disciplines, and styles. Her deep appreciation for the bond between humanity and nature is a central theme in her art. Therefore, it was important for me to embrace her inspirations and thoughtfully weave them into the interior design of her home.
The phenomenon of ‘audio-phonic silence’ fills the space, a stillness so deep it creates a sensation in the ears, heightening your awareness of every subtle sound. This sensitivity strengthens the connection between body, sound, and setting.
Complemented by the calming trickle of water, you’re drawn from the entrance to the patio, where the boundary between indoors and outdoors fades, creating an emotional experience that immerses you in nature and the home’s atmosphere.
